How does modular pricing work?
Every café starts with the POS module. From there, you add only the modules you actually use. Switch them on or off any time — billed monthly per location. Running four or more cafés? Talk to us about group pricing.
Are there any lock-in contracts?
No. Every plan is month-to-month. Cancel any time.
Is GST included in these prices?
No — every price on this page is plus GST, the same way your supplier invoices are quoted. We show the GST-inclusive figure alongside each one so there are no surprises. If you're GST registered, the ex-GST price is what it actually costs you.
What's the Mobile Ordering offer?
Mobile Ordering is free on every plan until 10 February 2027 — QR ordering and online payment, at no charge. After that it's $39.00 + GST a month like the other modules, and you can switch it off any time. We'll tell you before it starts billing, not after.
Do you take a cut of my takings?
Never. MILK is software. At the counter you keep your own EFTPOS provider and your own rates. QR orders are paid straight into your own Stripe account — Stripe's card fee is between you and Stripe, and we add nothing on top.
Is the AI extra?
Sales forecasting comes with every plan. MILK Intelligence — draft rosters, draft supplier orders and an assistant manager that reads across your whole café — will be an add-on. It isn't on sale yet; we're testing it against real café trading first. Ask for early access when you book a demo.
What does it cost to add a till or a kitchen screen?
Nothing. Every price is per location, not per device — run as many iPads and kitchen display screens as you need.
Which EFTPOS terminal works with MILK?
Card payments run through your EFTPOS NZ terminal, connected by Verifone's VCloud — see Integrations. EFTPOS NZ switch VCloud on for you — some terminals change over on the spot, others need a settings download, so ask a week or two before you want to go live. You keep your own merchant agreement and rates. On a different provider? Tell us which one.
What hardware do I need?
Any iPad running iPadOS 18 or later — an iPad mini is plenty at the counter. For receipts and dockets, any network receipt printer that speaks ESC/POS, which most café printers do, so you're not locked to one brand. For cards, your own EFTPOS terminal.
Do my staff need anything?
Nothing to install for the till — turn on staff sign-in and they tap their name and a PIN. With Team & Rostering they can also use the MILK staff app on iPhone to check their roster, ask for time off and set their availability. Clocking in and out stays on the counter iPad.
Can I bring my menu across?
Yes. Your menu imports from a spreadsheet. With Stock & Cost Control you can paste a supplier's price list straight in, and the invoices you photograph keep those prices up to date.
What happens if I turn a module off?
It goes read-only, and nothing is deleted. Your rosters, recipes and loyalty cards are all still there if you switch it back on next winter.
